What Do You Write About in Your London Blog?
The ‘Real London’ section is of the wonderful places that 30 years in the City has given me; this is where I share that with the world. This section focuses mainly on the more older and traditional parts of London, less about Oxford Street and more on quaint pubs, restaurants and memorable places to see.
I’ve been a London cabbie for over 30 years and what still amazes me is how real the day time London feels compared to the night; ones imagination can run riot in this incredible metropolis and it’s at these times that I explore it and jot short stories down. These are my “Taxtasy Tales”.
Why Did You Start Your London Blog?
I started this blog as a release to the stressful hustle and bustle of working in London; it’s the outlet to my imagination and the inspiration that keeps me writing …
I was inspired to start the blog when I realised how easy it is for myself (a fairly non-savvy computer user) to self publish my ideas and thoughts about my experiences with London. I also plucked up the courage to take the plunge when I saw more and more blogs about daily life and peoples thoughts popping up over the web. And this inspired me to finally pursue something I’ve wanted to do for some time and join the blogging world. So far I’ve enjoyed great feedback and surprisingly steady page stats.
I went about starting my blog by creating an account with ‘WordPress’ www.wordpress.com; an extremely well presented and easy to use blog provider. I then put on all my starting content and began writing more of it during my time working in London between jobs, keeping in mind the advice ‘Quality over quantity’. When I have time I also post my blogs URL on various forums and pages to create site traffic so people can read it and start spreading the word.
