What Do You Write About in Your London Blog?
I write about certain London (and English) experiences through the vantage point of an American Expat. I write about food, travel, accommodations, outdoor activities, shopping and more; I try to provide recommendations that are both special/unique and affordable.
Each of my entries is part-informative, part-anecdotal, which makes for fun reading.
Why Did You Start Your London Blog?
I have always loved London and am passionate about sharing my experiences with friends and family in written form. I finally decided to take the plunge as a blogger and was careful not to include too many diary-like observations ("I ate cereal this morning. I just went for a run.")
Researching and writing entries is, as it turns out, more fun than putting them online. I've become a journalist in my own city, and it's been wonderfully fun.
Advice
- Try to find a unique angle for whatever content you hope to publish.
- Don't give the reader too much unnecessary info, whether about any one place or thing, or yourself.
- Have fun with your blog--take pride in your entries by editing them properly and including your own photos.
- Be sure to have some entries that are interactive--or at least offer the chance of feedback from your readers.
- Self-promote! I've found that Facebook is a great tool.
