If you look back towards the observatory in the evening, you may see the position of the Meridian Line marked by a green laser beam in the sky.

Returning to London by water is a fine way to go, but for something different take the Docklands Light Railway (DLR). Be sure to sit near the front of the train so that your children can pretend they're driving, as these trains do not have a driver.

The DLR station "Cutty Sark for Maritime Greenwich" is nearby, just off Greenwich High Road. From there you can travel to:

  • London (Bank), for the Underground
  • Tower Gateway, (Tower of London)
  • and Lewisham, Stratford and Limehouse for overground train comnections
