There is No Museums and Galleries Month in 2009 but there is Museums at Night.
Museums at Night 2009
Museum at Night is organized by Culture 24 and takes place on 15, 16 and 17 May 2009.
London events include:
- a 'Battleship Boogie' 1940's style aboard the HMS Belfast
- spend the night at the Cabinet War Rooms
- be guided around the Florence Nightingale Museum in the company of The Lady herself, with lamplight supplied from the very lamp she used in the Crimea.
- space themed events at the Greenwich Observatory
- music in the National Gallery
- studio tours at the V&A
Events and activities are being added to the program on a daily basis, so for complete listings see www.culture24.org.uk where you can check events up until the weekend itself.
Museums at Night coincides with the major European initiative Nuit des Musees on Saturday 16 May 2009.
