The Tour of Britain's London stage starts on the Embankment, opposite the London Eye, goes past the Houses of Parliament, loops back onto the Embankment and follows the River Thames to the Tower of London then back round the way they came, finishing opposite the London Eye.

The opening stage of the race will cover 10 laps of the new circuit as the riders battle it out to see who will wear the first leaders Yellow Jersey.
In 2009, 2010 & 2011 the central London circuit will be the finale of the last stage of The Tour of Britain.
Times:
1.30pm: Riders sign on at the podium and start warming up on the circuit
2pm: Start of Stage 8 (final stage) of The Tour of Britain.
It's a ten lap circuit with 'Hot Spot Sprints' at the end of laps 3, 5 & 7.
4pm: Finish.

Prostate Cancer Charity London Tour Ride:
The Prostate Cancer Charity London Tour Ride is on the morning of the final stage of The Tour of Britain 2009, on Saturday 19 September. Limited places available for cyclists of all abilities to ride two laps of the iconic Tour of Britain London circuit, just before the professionals race to decide the overall winner of The Tour of Britain 2009.
Expect a carnival spirit involving celebrities, politicians, weird and wonderful bikes and lots of fancy dress, customize their bikes and have fun while raising money and awareness for The Prostate Cancer Charity. Find out more at www.tourride.co.uk.
