About BFI London Film Festival
The BFI London Film Festival has been an annual event in London since 1956 and showcases the best new films from the around the world. What makes the BFI London Film Festival different from other European film festivals is that it is not just for film industry people. Tickets are available for all festival screenings for everyone. The BFI London Film Festival gives you the opportunity to watch an exciting film alongside the film's actors, directors, and producers, and there are often Q&A sessions after the screenings.Note: BFI = British Film Institute

Film Program
Last year's Festival (2008) hosted 191 feature films and 109 short films from 43 countries including a record 15 world premieres. There were 398 screenings and 537 visiting international filmmakers, a record 1096 industry professionals, and the highest ever audience attendance. The Festival opened with the World Premiere of Ron Howard's FROST/NIXON and closed with the European Premiere of Danny Boyle's Slumdog Millionaire.
