Mother's Day in London

Mothering Sunday is the second Sunday in May in the US but in the UK we celebrate Mother's Day in March. (2013 date: Sunday 10 March 2013.)

If you are visiting London in March you will need to know how to spoil mom so read on...

1. Florimania at Hampton Court Palace

Henry VIII's Apartments set the scene for this year's Florimania, the annual celebration of floral arranging. From 8 to 10 March 2013 you can see flamboyant floral creations displayed alongside the newly re-created Tudor crown in King Henry VIII's richly furnished rooms. Included in palace admission. 2. Afternoon Tea & Pride and Prejudice at The Queen's House

Enjoy afternoon tea in the beautiful surroundings of the Queen's House Greenwich, take in the classical architecture before you retire to the Orangery to enjoy a screening of Joe Wright's critically acclaimed adaptation of Austen's Pride and Prejudice starring Keira Knightly.

3. London Eye

Quality time together is the greatest gift, so why not treat mom (and yourself) to a ride on the London Eye? You could choose a Champagne Experience and include the London Eye River Cruise, a fun interactive 40 minute cruise on the Thames taking in some of London's most impressive architecture.

6. Plan a Visit to Buckingham Palace

Buckingham Palace is open to the public from the end of July to late September each year so this is one mom will have to wait for but you could purchase the tickets now so she's got something to look forward to.
If mom can't visit London in the summer but is here now then take her to see the Changing of the Guard outside the front of Buckingham Palace.
