The Snowdon Aviary was built in 1962-4, at the same time as the Casson Pavilion that is now Zoo World. The aviary looks almost weightless and has an aluminum frame and cables with a giant net stretched across. It was designed by Lord Snowdon, the husband of Princess Margaret, the Queen's sister.
Behind the aviary, are some vending machines and benches so this can be a peaceful place to rest for a while.
