No Buggies on the London Eye
No Buggies / Pushchairs / Strollers / Prams

Buggies are not allowed on the London Eye. I discovered this in the small print on their web site:
Families with young children are advised that baby buggies should be left in the facility provided. This is located opposite the entrance to our ticket office inside County Hall. You can borrow a complimentary baby carrier for use during your visit.

I then emailed London Eye Customer Service to ask why, and this is their response when I asked why:

Due to health and safety regulations set by the local Government and the Department of Trade and Industry, we have a policy where pushchairs are not allowed to be taken on to the London Eye.

Each capsule on the London Eye has limited space, for which we reserve for wheelchair passengers. The health and safety regulations that we have on place only allow 8 wheelchairs on the London Eye at any one time. Furthermore, we can only have two wheelchairs per capsule. As I am sure you can appreciate, if we were to change the policy we have in place, it would inconvenience and discriminate towards our customers who are in wheelchairs. As we are an equal opportunity company, I regret that our policy will never change. There is, however, seating available in the capsules.

Has this 'no buggies' policy caused you any problems? What do you think about the policy? Do you agree with it, or do you think buggies should be allowed? Let us know in the London for Visitors Forum.
