Design Museum Kid's Activities

By , About.com Guide

The Design Museum in London regularly has Sunday events for children from 6 to 12 years old.

Free Action Packs

Every child visiting the Design Museum is given a free Design Action Pack which includes treasure trails of exhibits, creativity exercises, and a 'Spot The Building' game featuring the architectural landmarks you can see from the riverfront terrace.

What's On?

2006 events include:
  • Bill Amberg's Bags and Belts - making and decorating leather goods
  • Full Steam Ahead! - celebrating Britain's railway heritage
  • Fly a Kite - designing and making kites
  • Make a Modern Home - designing and making model homes

There is a different theme each month so it's best to check with the museum which creativity workshops are running before you plan your trip. All creativity workshops are suitable for children aged from 6 to 12 years old. Under 12s enjoy free entry to the Design Museum but must be accompanied at all children's workshops by a paying adult. Booking is essential on 020 7940 8782 or send an email.
