Pedicabs in London
Rickshaws in Central London

By Laura Porter, About.com

There are around five to ten companies operating pedicabs in London, the original being Bug Bugs who started in 1998. Between them there are 200 or so pedicabs in use.

These are some of the main London pedicab companies:

You will usually find pedicabs congregating around the entrance to Leicester Square and Covent Garden opposite the Tube station. Remember, you should always agree a price before taking a ride.

If you have fun on your ride, which you will, don't forget to tip the rider!

* Eco Chariots are still the only recumbent and white rickshaws. They orientate services to marketing agencies and for weddings. A couple cycling an Eco Chariot broke a world record in 2009 in long distance rides and made it into the Guinness Book of World Records with their 1000 miles rickshaw ride (find out more).
