Twenty Pound Note 2

The Bank of England issued the Adam Smith £20 note on 13 March 2007. The note features Adam Smith, 18th century Scottish philosopher and economist, on the back and incorporates enhanced security features. It is the same size and predominantly the same color (purple) as the old-style Elgar £20 note that featured Sir Edward Elgar on the back but do note the Elgar £20 note has been withdrawn.
