City Hall has been home to the Mayor of London, the London Assembly, and the GLA (Greater London Authority) since July 2002. Members of the public can visit parts of City Hall on weekdays from 8.30am to 5.30pm and on occasional weekends.
City Hall was designed by Foster and Partners, one of Britain's leading architects, whose design brief was to create a building for the GLA that would become a new landmark for the capital.
