The London Hydraulic Power Company built a tunnel under the River Thames. This is the entrance and it dates back to 1868.

Just before the Tower Shop you will see a small round building on your right. The is the entrance to a tunnel that goes under the River Thames. It was planned as a pedestrian river crossing, but is actually only used as a service tunnel for pipes.
