Cans Festival Street Art Photos
London Stencil Art Street Battle May 2008

From Laura Porter, About.com

For three days in May 2008, a disused road tunnel in Leake Street, Waterloo, SE1 was turned into a half-mile long exhibition space by street artist Banksy. He got together with 29 other street artists for a 'Stencil Art Street Battle' called the Cans Festival with the aim to "transform a dark forgotten filth pit" into "an oasis of beautiful art". The installations will be removed after the event but Banksy said he hoped the murals and graffiti would become a permanent part of the tunnel.
