Citadines London

There are four Citadines properties in London offering Apart-Hotels, with other associated properties under The Ascott Limited management also in London.

The Ascott Limited has three brands: Ascott, Citadines and Somerset.

Staying at Citadines gives you the comfort of a 24 hour Reception as you would enjoy in a hotel, plus you have self-catering facilities in your room.

I know this property best of the four Citadines in London as good friends stayed here in 2007 and I returned in 2011 for a tour of the completed redesign and refurbishment program.

Citadines Holborn-Covent Garden is a ten minute walk from Covent Garden or the Oxford Street shopping area, and only a five minute walk from the British Museum.

There are 192 studios and one-bedroom apartments, and all have air-conditioning and a fully-equipped kitchen. Depending on the room you choose you may have a kitchen only, or kitchen and dining area, or kitchen/diner and lounge area. The one bedroom apartments have a larger kitchen than most London homes and a separate bedroom. Each apartment has bamboo flooring, high quality fabrics plus London-inspired newly commissioned works of art.

There is complimentary wifi to all apartments and in the relaxation area on the ground floor. This is a popular space with guests as there are complimentary newspapers and TV, with a choice of sofa seating or tables and chairs. It's also where breakfast is served if you choose not to make something in your apartment. There is a supermarket opposite so it's very easy to make this a home from home.

Other facilities include: meeting rooms, a small car park, a fitness studio, laundry and the 24 hour Reception.

This location finished its full renovation in early 2012. It's on the edge of Trafalgar Square and has 187 apartments from studios to one and two-bedroom apartments making it perfect for families or those traveling in a group. You pay for the room and not the number of people so an extra person on the sofa bed if fine, and there are even duplex options for heading upstairs to bed.

As as well as being family-friendly, Citadines Prestige Trafalgar Square is also pet-friendly. All rooms have air-conditioning and opening windows, many with lovely views. The one bedroom apartments have a table that's large enough to be a dining table or a proper work space making this a great option for many different types of traveler. The free wifi throughout is also appreciated.

Just like at all other Citadines locations, the apartments have a fully-equipped kitchen and there's a supermarket a few minutes walk away. There's a small store on the ground floor for those classic British food gifts including Marmite and HP sauce. Breakfast is available for guests who don't plan to go food shopping (chargeable) and The Commonwealth Club next door offers preferential dining rates to guests.

This Citadines is great for those on vacation as you can walk to so many of the main sights, or for those needing to be in the centre of town for a business meeting. There's no Fitness Centre but guests do enjoy running along The Embankment, next to the River Thames. There's a Laundry Room and a car park available, and all rooms now have daily servicing.

This is another great location from Citadines, this time close to the South Kensington museums: V&A, Science Museum, and Natural History Museum.

There are 92 studio and one bedroom apartments, including one bedroom duplex apartments with a mezzanine level.

Close to the City of London - the financial district and historic heart of London - the Museum of London is only a few minutes away and so is St. Paul's Cathedral.

There are 129 studio and one bedroom apartments with all the facilities in-room that you would expect. There is also a Business Corner for meeting friends or colleagues.
