Trooping The Colour is an annual event in June to celebrate the Queen's birthday. Find out how to get tickets for the seated stands which must be applied for in writing in January and February.

- Tickets for the seated stands at the Trooping The Colour are available to the general public. Applications should be made by post in January and February only, enclosing a stamped addressed envelope to:

If you are not sure what to write in your letter, here is an example:

Dear Sirs,
I would like to apply for [insert number] tickets for the seated stands at Trooping The Colour in London in June [insert year]. I have enclosed a stamped addressed envelope and look forward to hearing to you.

[Print your name]Do include the number of tickets you require or you will be asked to write again.
You will receive a standard letter (with a reference number) by return, giving more details about the Queen's Birthday Parade (Trooping the Colour, plus The Colonel's Review and The Major General's Review, and the Household Division Beating Retreat, which are similar events on earlier weekends in June.
If you are lucky enough to be offered tickets you will receive an offer letter (probably in March) with payment details. Note, they can only accept checks in UK pounds sterling drawn on a British Bank. Credit cards are not accepted.
To give you an idea of ticket prices, in 2007 tickets for the seated stands at Trooping the Colour cost £20 each.
