Don't go to Gossip Café in Chelsea's King's Road. The staff are rude and impatient, and above that, tried to rip us off.
We ordered two waters and got one glass each. We also ordered one cup of English tea. During the meal, they didn't bring us enough utensils (as in no spoons to eat the muesli breakfast) and when asked for additional plates, was met with 'is that everything?'
We asked for the bill three times before giving up and walking to the desk. Then upon check out we noticed there were charges of £1.50 ($3 USD) per glass of water. When I asked for this to be removed, they insisted that asking for still water was not tap water and that they had brought us bottled water. Of course we didn't see the bottle. They insisted it was 'on the menu' and that a bottle of water cost much more! It's fine to make a note on the menu, but for a glass of water that you don't assume is charged for? Seems like a hidden cost to me. We clearly wanted just tap water.
To add insult, they charged us for another cup of tea which we didn't order. (We actually just asked for additional hot water and they brought us, unpleasantly, about three tablespoons worth.) And a 12.5% service charge was automatically added. Steer clear of this place - go to the organic grocery store just behind it.
