Guide Review - Gaby's Deli - Restaurant Review
Gaby's Deli is a small doorway on London's busy Charing Cross Road, near to Covent Garden, Leicester Square, and Trafalgar Square. Considering its location you would expect the prices to be inflated but Gaby's is a popular choice for Londoners due its cheap, fresh food.

I hear the food is Kosher but there's nothing overtly Jewish about this place. It's more well-known for its excellent Mediterranean salads, falafel, and hummous -- or at least it is with my vegetarian friends. The meat-eaters love the salt beef most, closely followed by the lamb kebabs.

Staff are always friendly, however busy it gets. And talking of busy, try to avoid visiting at the peak times (12-2pm can be a nightmare) but if you are hungry then check for extra seating at the back as it may look full from the door but there's a large room you can't see from the entrance. Alternatively, grab a takeaway and walk for 2 minutes and sit in Trafalgar Square.

Gaby's theatreland location makes it an excellent place to grab a bite before or after a show. It's popular with the actors too -- take time to look at the signed photos on the walls.

Don't be put off by the plastic photo menu. It may not be classy but the food is delicious, wholesome, and cheap. Gaby's is always worth a visit whenever you're in town.
