The Prospect of Whitby is London's oldest riverside pub and dates back to 1520, according to a sign outside the building. You'll find flagstone flooring and a pewter-covered bar counter (which is actually a modern refurbishment).
The Prospect of Whitby was a 16th century smugglers' inn, and was later popular with Samuel Pepys and Charles Dickens. Today, it's popular with locals and tourists and serves a find selection of real ales, as well as hot and cold meals.
