Bagels (from Brick Lane Beigel Bake) and seriously chunky bread sandwiches have generous fillings and both are under £4.
I chose crumpets and butter as it seemed such a homely choice to have with my pot of tea. My companion enjoyed a Chorizo bagel. We both tried the popular cupcakes with their butter icing swirls and sprinkles which were fine if a little over-priced.
Service is friendly while laid-back and locals return regularly.
Tina, We Salute You is quirky and a bit kitsch but not pretentious and I look forward to returning.
Who's Tina? Does it matter? She was an image in a portrait that was popular in the 1970s. She can be seen on the wall of the cafe.
