The Flora London Marathon covers a 26.2 mile route, that starts on Blackheath and passes the Cutty Sark, Tower Bridge, Canary Wharf, Tower of London, London Eye, Houses of Parliament, and finishes in The Mall (the road between Buckingham Palace and Trafalgar Square). There are around 48,000 entrants with as many as half a million spectators cheering them along the route. It is the biggest single day charity event of the year raising an estimated £35m (US$68 approx.) for a wide range of charities.
