Thanks to all the readers who sent me updates to the international clothing size conversion charts. All countries, and all clothing manufacturers it seems, use slightly different sizing for their shoes and clothing so it is always best to try things on before you buy but I have updated all of the charts and I hope they help you when shopping online or in London. Thanks for the post :) I think the sizes are always a bit tricky. I needed them when I ordered my new dress from Jane Austen Centre, and was glad they had a size chart on their site. When I was in London 25 years ago it was always size 10 for me, but not any more – found that I had to order the new dress in 12 ;)

I’m surprised it thought you were a 12 as you are so slim. But yes, checking the actual measurements is always the best idea.
