British Museum Visitor Guide

Follow me on:

British Museum: Great Court The British Museum is an iconic building with many world famous exhibits. It was founded in 1753 and the collections include the controversial Elgin Marbles/Parthenon Sculptures, the Rosetta Stone and those ever-popular Egyptian mummies.

The British Museum has always been free to visit which means you don't have to feel like you're on an endurance test and try to see all of the highlights on one trip, but can pop in as many times as you feel like it.

I've updated the visitor guide (why didn't you tell me it was out-of-date!) so you can now get the latest information on directions, opening times, family activities, tours, etc. Image: © Laura | London Travel Blog
