V&A Quilts Exhibition

Saturday November 14, 2009
Quilting is a skill I'd love to master but I never find the time. I have friends who produce wonderful pieces and I plan to drag someone along to see this future exhibition at the V&A.

Covering 300 years of British quilt making, the 65 quilts on display includes recent examples by leading contemporary artists including Tracey Emin and Grayson Perry, plus the stories behind each artwork.

If you'd like to compare British and American quilts, you could visit the American Museum in Britain in Bath for a London day trip as they have Classic American Quilts opening on 13 March 2010.

Exhibition Title: Quilts 1700 - 2010
Venue: V&A
Dates: 20 March - 4 July 2010

Find out more and book tickets on the official V&A website. Image: Bishops Court quilt, 1690-1700

This is another of the exhibitions happening in London next year I can’t wait to see! It’s a rare chance to see lots of historical quilts together.
