Natural History Museum is one of the big three museums in South Kensington. It is a wonderful Victorian building housing the weird and wonderful of the natural world. It is world famous for its dinosaur skeletons.

It can be a great place for the whole family, especially if you include a visit to the Butterfly Jungle exhibition on the east lawn (on till 27 September 2009).

The Rafflesia flower entrance leads into the butterfly house where you can climb, crawl, swing and jump your way through the different layers of the rainforest, while discovering the amazing characters that live there. There are survival challenges to try that are fun, physical and puzzling.

As well as a huge variety of tropical butterflies from all over the world, look out for a green iguana, ornate horned frog, jungle nymph, emperor scorpion, Mexican redknee tarantula, Atlas beetles, iridescent fruit beetles and a giant centipede.

Child tickets are from £3.50 and adults from £5.40. Family tickets from £15.
