Doggett's Coat and Badge Race 2009

Friday June 26, 2009
If you don't know about the Doggett's Coat and Badge Race I wouldn't be surprised. I only learned about the race a few years ago, yet the event has been taking place annually for nearly 300 years! I found the name fascinating so did some research. The Doggett's Coat and Badge Race is an annual rowing race on the River Thames where the prizes are a scarlet coat and a silver badge - hence the name! The 2009 race is on Friday 10 July 2009 with a 12.30pm start at London Bridge. The race finishes at Chelsea and takes about 25 to 30 minutes.
