AirBnB - Stay with Real Londoners

By April 23, 2009

AirBnB is a website that offers a viable alternative to hotels by allowing you to book rooms with locals. Travelers save money and get a local experience, while hosts have an easy way to earn extra cash and meet new people. London prices look good with many private rooms for $50 or less. (Unfortunately, none of the London listings have reviews yet.)

This sounds like a great idea all round as visitors will get to meet real Londoners and will most likely have access to the things a real home has such as a kitchen with pans and cups and all that good stuff, books about London, etc.

While they started out getting offers of couches and sofa-beds, AirBnB have found that 50% of their listings are now entire apartments, homes, and vacation rentals.

Londoners, if you have a spare room/apartment or even just the couch in the living room to offer you could make some extra cash here as there is no charge to list your room and guests pay a small service fee to cover AirBnB costs.

I’m all about eating, drinking and travelling, and I’m poor, so this was great because it combined the fact that im poor and allowed me to hangout with some locals who were renting their place out, used their advice to have better meals then I could have had from any tour guide
