Look After Your Bag At All Times
Friday August 15, 2008
Ah, sleeping in the sun on a summer's day. Lovely. Unless you wake up and find someone has taken your bag. I saw this chap sleeping near the London Eye with his bag not that close to him. My partner and I tried to wake him but he was dead to the world (alcohol-induced) so all we could do was move his bag in close to him so it looked like he was holding in it.
I was at the Changing of the Guard at Buckingham Palace recently and just as the mounted police made the announcement for everyone to keep an eye on their valuables two tourists came forward to say things were missing from their bags: passports, cash, cards, the works.
London is not any more dangerous than other big cities but you do need to be streetwise and keep your valuables close to you at all times.
