Thames Clipper River Service Relaunch

Thursday August 7, 2008
Thames Clippers's river boat service, whose fleet of high speed catamarans carries commuters and tourists alike up and down the Thames, is having a major makeover. The Thames Clippers website, logo, timetables and boat branding have all been revamped. NatWest, a Founding Partner of The O2, will also be using the boats for advertising, branding the majority of the fleet. The new Thames Clippers website has new booking facilities, email alerts, service updates, videos of the Clippers and suggested sightseeing itineraries. Additional functions range from a translation tool, boarding details, and a feedback forum enabling customers to contribute to ongoing improvements to the service.

Thames Clippers will also be extending its late night service when the new Matter nightclub opens at The O2 in September. The service will provide a key transport link to central London and will operate through the evening and early hours on club nights.

Thames Clippers has a fleet of 12 high speed catamarans that leave key London piers every twenty minutes, all day, every day. Last year Thames Clippers transported 1,500 passengers per week and now carry 1,500 per hour at peak times. The boats are currently used by 7,000 passengers a day and the service is the fastest growing transport system in London.

The boats are also becoming ever popular in transporting VIPs to and from The O2 including Sharon Osbourne, Nicolas Sarkozy and Carla Bruni, Neil Diamond and U2. Also In Greenwich:
