Free Time Family Festival at Somerset House

Somerset House, an 18th century palace on the banks of the River Thames, is hosting a free family festival from 15 to 18 August 2008. You can expect four days of free circus-inspired activities, throwing open the doors of Somerset House and the Courtauld Gallery to families and young people, animating the Fountain Court with activities tailor-made for children. All free, all day, every day.

Program highlights include:
A specially commissioned performance in the fountains with a whirlwind of flying objects and dazzling color; 'The Big Water Juggle' featuring established and up-and-coming UK jugglers; Hoola Hoop Performances and Workshops from the Circus Space's 'Britain's Got Talent' Semi-Finalists Hoop La La and performances in the Courtyard by the Slinkies.

Activities:
Free Time is focused on participation, visitors will take part in creating an ever changing 'Big Circus' installation by Free Time favorite Jonny Stockbridge and join in with imaginative art workshops taking part in the Learning Centre making Glowing Big Tops, Spinning Illusions and the smallest show on earth. All workshops for families with children of all ages; children must be accompanied by an adult.

The program is completed with circus films, activities in the Young Design Centre and magical storytelling journeys.

Entrance to the Courtauld Gallery is free for families during Free Time.

Open 11am-6pm.
