I saw the most incredible queue of people waiting to board the London Eye recently. The line had doubled back so people were facing away from the Eye for the first half of their wait. I overheard visitors being told it would take them 30 minutes to an hour to get their tickets, then they could join this line which would take 1.5-2 hours. As a flight on the London Eye only takes 30 minutes I started wondering how long would you really want to wait? (Particularly on a hot weekend day.) Vote in this poll and let us know your thoughts.

How long would you wait for the London Eye?
1) Under 30 minutes
2) 30 minutes to an hour
3) Up to 2 hours
4) As long as it takes
5) I'd book a timed ticket in advance

I think I’d last about 10 minutes. No view is worth waiting an hour for, not even if I thought I was never getting to London again!

I have been on the London Eye and it was much more interesting than I’d expected. Still, I am not one for waiting in long lines, so I would probably check the weather forecast and purchase a ticket in advance. (We usually travel off-season, so long lines like the one in your photo aren’t part of my typical travel experience.)

if you’re going to a major attraction as popular as the London Eye, why would you _not_ want to book ahead, especially in these summer months?
