City Seaside at London Eye

Saturday July 26, 2008
From 26 July (today) to 25 August 2008 (11am - 7pm), visitors will find the London Eye landscape full of summer treats, with a sandcastle sculptured in the base of the wheel and traditional British games such as quoits, giant Jenga, and giant Connect 4 to challenge family and friends alike. Guests will be able to pose to their heart's content with a traditional beach peep board, or lounge on deckchairs on the landscape whilst soaking up the summer sun and enjoy ice creams and seaside rock whilst watching the world go by. (Note, there won't actually be a sand beach there but there'll be all the good stuff that accompanies a fun day at the beach.)

Visitors on Saturdays will also be able to enjoy entertainment from a troupe of skilled street performers who will entertain the crowd with seaside themed antics involving synchronized swimmers, sticks of rock, and missing suitcases!

To celebrate the arrival of summer, the London Eye will be offering visitors Britain's most loved summer beverage at Britain's most iconic landmark. To end that perfect British summer's day at the seaside, visitors can enjoy a glass of Pimm's on board the London Eye, whilst taking in the breathtaking city landscape. Pimm's and Lemonade flights are available until 7 September 2008. There will also be beach huts near the London Eye serving Pimm's and Champagne from 5.30pm - 7.30pm so you don't have to go on the London Eye but could enjoy a drink while relaxing on a deckchair on the South Bank. Get full details from the London Eye website.
