Xstrata Treetop Walkway at Kew Gardens

Saturday May 10, 2008
Kew Garden's summer festival celebrates trees from 24 May 2008 to 28 September 2008. And what better way to celebrate trees than with the new Rhizotron and Xstrata Treetop Walkway, which gives visitors the opportunity to journey from the fascinating root system, learning about the tree's life underground, to the tree canopy where you can explore biodiversity from above. The Xstrata Treetop Walkway has been designed by the architects of the London Eye and is 200 meters long and 18 meters high. The Rhizotron (taken from the Greek rhiza, meaning root) is entered through an apparent crack in the ground, allows you to see the natural world beneath the trees.

See Kew Gardens website for full event details.
