Museums and Galleries Month is the UK-wide celebration of museums and galleries which takes place in May. Up to 100 museums in the UK will be showing Nick Park's Oscar ® winning film, 'The Wrong Trousers' (partly set in an imaginary museum) and a selection of episodes of Aardman's latest show, Shaun the Sheep. The Museum of Brands, Packaging and Advertising will also be offering a 'characters through the decades' trail and refreshments will be available during the event. Please email or call to book your places.
The Museum of Brands, Packaging, and Advertising in London's Notting Hill documents social history through consumer products. You will see over 12,000 items from shampoo bottles and drinks cans, to toys and postcards. The Museum is clean and modern and all displays are in glass cabinets so children can explore freely. The museum is extremely well laid out as the space is actually quite small but you are guided through a winding "time tunnel" to see the history of consumer culture decade by decade, from Victorian times to the present day.
