Beijing Olympic Torch Relay

The Beijing Olympic Torch is coming to London on Sunday 6 April 2008 as part of the global Olympic Torch Relay in the run up to the Beijing Olympic Games. The route is going to start at Wembley, the site of the 1948 Olympic Games, and finish at the North Greenwich Arena, which is to be one of the venues for the 2012 Games. The torch will be in Hyde Park from 12-12.30pm then go to Oxford Street, Trafalgar Square, the South Bank, the City, and East London before finishing at North Greenwich where there will be a free,ticketed event. Southbank Centre is hosting a special outdoor event from 2pm.

After London, the Beijing Olympic torch goes to Paris, France on Monday 7 April and San Francisco on 9 April 2008.
