Moore at Kew in the Springtime
Sunday March 23, 2008
Kew Gardens is a photographer's paradise at the best of times but until the end of the month you can also see 28 large-scale bronze Henry Moore sculptures throughout Kew's unique 300 acre World Heritage Site landscape, making this the first exhibition of its kind ever to be held in London. The exhibition has been on since September and I went back this week to see how the Moore sculptures worked with the spring flowers. I can report back they are still wonderful and, in my opinion, suit any weather or season.
Don't forget, on the evenings of Friday 28 and Saturday 29 March Kew is offering special night-time viewings from 7pm until 10pm. The sculptures will be lit up for visitors to enjoy during a dusk-to-darkness stroll. Kew will close at 5.30pm on 28 and 29 March and then reopen at 7pm. It's going to be popular so they strongly recommend you book tickets in advance.
