The 33rd Annual Covent Garden May Fayre and Puppet Festival will also celebrate Mr. Punch's 346th birthday near the very spot that Samuel Pepys first saw Mr Punch in England in May 1662. The May Fayre takes place on Sunday 11 May 2008 in the garden of St. Paul's Church, Bedford Street, Covent Garden, London WC2 starting with a procession at 10.30am led by the Superior Brass Band. Performances may begin at noon and continue until about 5.30pm. Note, this year there will be no special church service because it is Pentecost and the Church will be holding it's own service to mark this at 11am. The Festival is to celebrate the art of puppetry and is entirely run by volunteers.
