Leicester Square to Get a Facelift

Leicester Square is about to undergo an £18.5 million redevelopment. Work will start in March 2008 and will be phased over three years to avoid serious disruption. Leicester Square hosts 50 film premieres a year and will continue to welcome the Hollywood blockbusters through the work. I was surprised to read that, according to Westminster Council, "The number of people that cross [Leicester] square every year is greater than the population of North America." You can have you say during the consultation period. Consultation documents can be downloaded from the Westminster City Council website.
