There's lots of holiday fun to enjoy on Thursday 6 December 2007. There is a Festive Fayre at the Museum of London from 6-9pm with live Klezmer music and Advent carols, a bar and the opportunity to shop for unique gifts by London designer/makers selling jewelery, ceramics, glass, textiles, bespoke shoes, plus more. The museum shop will also be offering 10% off when you spend £25 or more; shop for contemporary prints and cards, traditional toys and games, quirky stocking fillers, and over 1000 book titles. Free entry.
The London Community Gospel Choir will be performing their versions of traditional advent carols and spirituals at the Museum in Docklands in the London, Sugar, and Slavery gallery to mark its very recent opening. There will also be the chance to discover and debate African aesthetics as a tool for liberation, with poet Dorothea Smartt and playwright Michael McMillan, in Undressing Empire: Black British perspectives, from 7-8.30pm, Entry to Undressing Empire is now free.
Until 9pm
FREE admission from 4.30pm.
And, of course, the first Thursday in December is when the Trafalgar Square Christmas tree lights are switched on.
