London Transport Museum Re-Opening

Wednesday November 7, 2007
The London Transport Museum is reopening on Thursday 22 November 2007 after a £22.4 million refurbishment project dramatically improving the Museum’s Victorian Grade II listed building. The Museum has new themes such as world city comparisons and a Design Gallery. Original maps and posters are included in the displays and there will be a new CBS Outdoor Gallery focusing on the Museum's art and poster collection, plus a temporary exhibition program. There is also a 120-seat Cubis Theater and a new cafe. The Museum is the first historic Grade II listed building in the UK to install a large scale solar panel system. The panels will generate around 16 per cent of the Museum’s energy needs.
