Innocent Village Fete in Regent's Park
Thursday July 26, 2007
Those nice people who make Innocent Fruit Smoothies have organized another weekend of fun in Regent's Park. This year it's called Innocent Village Fete and is on 4 and 5 August 2007. Thankfully this year there is a small charge (£5) so the numbers can be limited. Last year, when it was called Fruitstock it was incredibly crowded and you couldn't walk around to see all the fun stuff they had laid on. Bless them for wanting to keep things free but I think £5 is a perfectly fair price for all the fun you can have and the profit is going to 3 charities. I recommend seeing Geno Washington and the Ram Jam Band. Take the family and buy tickets in advance (under 3s go free but need a ticket). It should be a great day with something for everyone from traditional village activities, to a fantastic music and comedy line-up, and great food and drinks stands. The traditional fete pursuits will include Maypole dancing, dog agility classes, welly-wanging (that's throwing boots!), tug-o-war, coconut shies, ferret racing, duck herding, barn dancing, bicycle gymkhana (for kids), cream teas, and funfair rides. What a laugh!
