Trafalgar Square Lions Wearing Scarves!

Tuesday March 20, 2007
It was cold in Trafalgar Square this morning and the lions around the base of Nelson's Column looked chilly. Luckily for them the girls from Stitch and Bitch London, London's super-friendly knitting group, were there to wrap the four lions in hand knitted scarves. Stitch and Bitch London have been working hard to complete the 300 feet of hand knitted scarf, with help from knitters all around the world. The event was organized to raise awareness of "the lion-hearted people who fight cancer every day" and to raise money for Cancer Research UK. If an event involving knitting can be described as slick then this would describe today's well-organized and good fun event.
