Great London Duck Race (Sunday 30 July 2006)
Saturday July 29, 2006
The inaugural Great London Duck Race is on tomorrow (Sunday 30 July 2006). It will start at 2pm from Battersea Park where thousands of yellow plastic ducks will be launched.
Although popular in the US, this is the first large-scale duck race we've seen in the UK. It is a charity event to raise money for Nightingale House - an elderly care home in London.
You can adopt a duck for £10 and the top prize of £4,000 worth of diamonds! The finish line is near Albert Bridge in Chelsea.
Why not adopt a duck now and then head on down to watch the race tomorrow. It's going to be quite a sight for London!
