Longer evenings would boost London tourism

Currently in the UK we change our clocks one hour forward in March to British Summer Time (BST) and we go back one hour in October to revert to Greenwich Mean Time (GMT). Now a plan is being put before parliament by Lord Tanlaw to create an extra hour of daylight in the evening so visitors to London can enjoy the outdoor attractions for longer.
New proposals would mean keeping clocks at the same time in, then in the following March, clocks would go forward an extra hour meaning there would be two hours extra evening daylight in summer and an extra hour in the winter. Once the initial adjustments were made, clocks would go backwards and forwards by an hour as normal. Read more…
