Save London’s Theatre Museum
Thursday March 23, 2006
The Theatre Museum in London’s Covent Garden is Britain’s only performing arts museum, and is under threat of closure. The trustees of the Victoria & Albert Museum, who own the site, are holding a crisis meeting today to decide on whether to close the Theatre Museum and split up its unique collection. A final decision will be made in May.
The V&A has failed to raise the money to refurbish the Theatre Museum which has been at its present location since 1987.
Famous actors supporting the Museum include Richard Briers and Sir Donald Sinden.
