The London Visitor Index was up compared to December 2005, but down compared to January 2005 and 2004.
Key events held across the capital, such as the Chinese New Year and Russian Winter Festival, helped stimulate demand during what is normally a sluggish month, while the strong performance of the City continued to underpin business tourism activity.
